June 10, 2017 was a great day of celebration for the alumni of Chiao Tung University. Former classmates came together for a day of speeches, roundtable discussions, networking, and reconnecting. Held at SUNY Global Center in New York, attendees were treated to inspiring talks by an impressive roster of corporate executives, including, Dr. James Si-Cheng Chao, Chairman and Founder of the international shipping company, Foremost Group, Angela Chao, Deputy Chair of Foremost Group and Liangjie Chen, Founder & President of Stellar Services, and Chairman of the Chiao Tung University Alumni Association in America (CTUAAA). CTUAAA works to nurture strong, lingering relationships between alumni from all campuses of the University across America.

Angela Chao, Deputy Director of the Foremost Group, will be accompanying her father James S.C. Chao to the 40th annual Silver Bell Awards dinner on June 8, 2017. The Seaman's Church Institute's Annual Dinner raises funds to support mariner rights, provide training programs, advocacy and more to US seafarers. The Silver Bell award is bestowed upon a person or group who has made significant contributions to the maritime industry and to merchant mariners.
Dr. Chao is being recognized for his advancement of the maritime industry, his lifelong dedication to education, as evidenced most recently by his charitable contributions to National Taiwan Ocean University and SUNY Maritime, and his commitment to building the highest caliber of shipping fleets and professional staff. More than 800 attendees from across the maritime industry are expected to attend this festive event. |
