Angela Chao, Foremost Group CEO and Chair, will be attending the Panama-Texas Business Summit this year as one of three guest speakers for the Ports and Maritime Services portion of the event. The PTBS will take place on September 15 and 16, 2022, in San Antonio. The main agenda of this event is to achieve a commercial exchange between Texas and Panama. Panama has a rich history and geography tied to it, and they would like to extend their connections with Texas. 

Foremost Group Chair and CEO Angela Chao will be speaking at the fireside chat segment of the 2021 NEXTChina Conference, which will be held virtually and in-person from November 10-11, 2021. (The fireside chat will be held online on November 10.) The theme of the conference will be Navigating Competitive Interdependence. 

As part of the ShippingInsight 2021 Fleet Optimization and Innovation Conference and Exhibition, Foremost Group Chairperson and CEO Angela Chao will be participating in a virtual panel for shipowners titled “Lunch on the Bridge”. The panel, hosted by the Cayman Ship Registry, will be held on October 12, 2021.

Angela Chao is scheduled to speak at the 2021 SupChina Women's Conference. The conference will be held virtually this year. The theme of the conference will be How Women Are Shaping the Rising Global Power. Ms. Chao will be featured on a panel that will discuss how women leaders are taking on business in 2021 as well as how China is impacting their industries and changing the face of how the world works. She will be joined by other top names in the industry, including World Bank Group Data Director Haishan Fu, Pillsbury Senior Associate Michelle Ng, and Everybody & Everyone CEO and Founder Veronica Chou.

The 12th Annual Capital Link New York Maritime Forum (NYMF) will take place this year on Wednesday and Thursday, October 14 and 15 as a completely digital event. The forum is held in partnership with DNB, Norway's largest financial services group, and in cooperation with Nasdaq and NYSE.

NYMF is an event with a double objective: to provide an interactive platform for those involved in global shipping, energy, and commodity markets and to showcase and promote New York as a hub for the global maritime community. In previous years, the event attracted industry leaders and top-level delegates from around the world. This year, due to current events, the forum will take place solely in digital format, making it possible for an even higher international attendance.
 
Ms. Chao, Chair and CEO of Foremost Group will be delivering her keynote speech on the 15th. The keynote speech on the first day of the digital event will be delivered by Dr. Grahaeme Henderson, Vice President of Shipping & Maritime at Shell International Trading and Shipping Ltd.

Webb Institute, which was founded in 1889, will award Bachelor of Science degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering to its graduates.​ The college is the only private undergraduate institution in its sphere that provides full-tuition scholarships.

​Angela Chao Honored at 17th Annual Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Gala

On June 20, 2018, in New York, Angela Chao, Chair and CEO of Foremost Group, will receive the Pinnacle Award at the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Dinner Gala. Every year, during the festive dinner gala, it is presented to one or two individuals who are at the pinnacle of their influential career.

Launched in 2001, the gala honors those who have succeeded while encouraging the next generation of Asian American talent and leadership.

On May 23, 2018, Dr. James S.C. Chao and his daughter Angela Chao traveled to Houston for the Lloyd’s List Americas Award Gala. For five years, Lloyd’s List Americas has been honoring best practices in the maritime industry. Its keynote tribute is the Lifetime Achievement Award which this year was bestowed upon Foremost Group Founder and Honorary Chairman, Dr. James Chao.

In accepting the award, Dr. Chao spoke about the role of the maritime industry in promoting cultural understanding among nations, as well as providing an essential service to the world. Angela Chao, Chair and CEO of Foremost Group, introduced her father and spoke about her father’s dedication to the industry, noting that he has devoted his entire life to serving society. ​

Dr. Chao and Angela Chao are being honored at the 2018 Admiral’s Scholarship Dinner on May 1, 2018 at SUNY Maritime College. The event will be held at the Marina del Ray. The Admiral's Scholarship Dinner raises scholarship funds for current and prospective Maritime students. Thanks to dinner committee members, our honorees, attendees and others wishing to make a donation, the Dinner raises scholarship support for students who would not otherwise be able to attend SUNY Maritime College.  Last year, the College awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships support from funds raised at the Admiral's Dinner.

Along with the Foremost Group, Dr. Chao and Angela Chao, this year's dinner will also honor SUNY Maritime alumnus Joseph Byrne '89, Vice President and Senior Operations Manager for Turner Construction, an international construction services company with 5.200 employees and more than $10 billion in annual construction projects. The Master of Ceremonies at the dinner will be Richard du Moulin, President of Intrepid Shipping and father of a recent SUNY Maritime alumnus.

It functions as a trade association representing ship agents, ship brokers and affiliate professionals located in Canada and the United States. ASBA establishes and articulates industry standards, defines professional conduct regulations, and facilitates communication and connections among its members. It operates through a number of committees, such as Dry Cargo, Tanker, Ethics & Grievance and Government. ​
