Angela Chao, Foremost Group CEO and Chair, will be attending the Panama-Texas Business Summit this year as one of three guest speakers for the Ports and Maritime Services portion of the event. The PTBS will take place on September 15 and 16, 2022, in San Antonio. The main agenda of this event is to achieve a commercial exchange between Texas and Panama. Panama has a rich history and geography tied to it, and they would like to extend their connections with Texas.
CEO and Chairman of the PTBS, Eric Paz, remarked “As one of the most widely recognized female leaders in shipping, we are pleased that Angela Chao will share her insights and perspective at this year’s summit.”
Summit to Address Various Industrial Sectors
The summit will address the Agricultural, Banking, Investment and Legal services, Construction, Clean energy, Food Industry, Logistics, Real Estate, Ports and Maritime Services, Technology and Tourism sectors. Industry leaders and government officials from both Panama and the United States will be in attendance, which include Ron Nirenberg, Mayor of the City of San Antonio, Marcela Galindo, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), and Richard Perez, CEO of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. The event is expected to have a considerable number of business delegations and government and Chamber of Commerce Panama officials, who will represent each sector.
Angela Chao commented, “The Panama Canal – and the relationship between the U.S. and Panama – are critical to battling continued inflation and ongoing supply chain disruptions. I look forward to joining leading voices from the U.S. and Panama at the summit in September as we engage in a constructive dialogue focused on problem solving for the benefit of the Americas and the global economy.”
